About Tom

Tom Sakievich is likely the most seasoned candidate to run for Utah County Commission in many years.

Citizens should be the focus of government service, not the other way around.

The role of government is to ensure all personal liberties are protected.  Those same rights define our approach to other nations.  Tom has seen the misery when rights are forgotten or lost due to government overreach and will be engaged to ensure they aren’t lost to Utah County

Tom completed full-time senior level, military service in 2006.  He continued to advise Marine Corps leaders how to fully integrate military organizations throughout the nation and globe.

He serves as Vice Chair of the Utah County Board of Adjustment (one of the legislative bodies of the county); was a member of a citizen group to recommend Utah’s newly formed 4th congressional boundary; actively served as a precinct officer and county and state delegate; he guided Scouting programs for well over 500 church and community sponsored Boy Scout, Varsity, and Venturing scouting units throughout the greater Mapleton and Spanish Fork city areas, and taught the same throughout Utah.

"I believe in the United States of America as a government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers

are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign Nation of many sovereign States; a

perfect union, one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice, and humanity for which

American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes. "

"I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it, to support its Constitution, to obey its laws, to respect the flag, and to defend it against all enemies."

– William Tyler Page. “The American Creed.” While he served as Clerk of the House of Representatives. 1917
(passed as a Resolution of the U.S. House of Representatives, April 3, 1918)
